We live in a temperamental city, where blue skies and sunbeams abruptly vanish, and ominous clouds appear in their stead. These frequent weather changes make for stressful planning when it comes to entertaining. Do you risk setting a beautiful table outside? Or do you play it safe under shelter? If you choose the outdoor gamble, and gray skies appear, does it mean you have to start from scratch decorating your indoor table?
At Roxanne's Dried Flowers, we love to play with the notion of bringing the garden indoors and bringing the dining room to the garden. We have several products offering such entertaining flexibility. Our collection of vintage inspired lanterns work equally well when grouped amidst the plants and pathways of your garden as they do when centered on your dining room table.
We used a tin plant tray with terrarium rocks for an extra note of the outdoors. The white of the rocks will reflect the flickering candlelight from the lantern and set your table aglow in an exciting way. If you were to set a similar scene, you might add dirt and greens in between the rocks for more of a garden feel.
A simple grouping of our preserved, seeded eucalyptus carries the color scheme across the table and functions much like a garland. Adding a little sprig to each plate is a way to tie the look of the table together. With a little card stock and twine, the sprigs could become place cards for a personalized seating arrangement.
